Santi
IN THE HEART OF THE VAL D'ILLASI
One of the most historic wineries in Valpolicella, founded by Carlo Santi back in 1843 in Illasi, a small village a few kilometres from Verona, nestling among the vineyards, famous for its villas and medieval castle.
Here, close to the Lessini Mountains, right on the border between the Soave and Valpolicella production areas, the Santi family began producing the wines typical of the area.
Carlo and his successors, Attilio Gino and Guido, immediately chose to focus on quality, using only the best grapes from the most suitable areas and also engaging in research and innovation.
In 1974 the Cantina became part of the Gruppo Italiano Vini, which enabled them to expand their structures and facilities and confirmed their vocation for quality.
Today, under the guidance of oenologist Cristian Ridolfi, Cantina Santi continues its pursuit of excellence, which is expressed in the unique style of its wines: the great red wines of Valpolicella, the soul of the Cantina, but also other famous Veronese appellations such as Soave, Lugana and Bardolino.
The fruit cellar for drying the Amarone grapes, the historic wine winery with its imposing barrel cellars and the brolo, the traditional walled vineyard. But also the wine shop and the villa, with its evocative centuries-old park where the great cedars of Lebanon, witnesses of ancient times, dwell. Cantina Santi is a place full of history and charm waiting to be discovered!
