Borgo Divino
MAY 16, 17 AND 18 IN SAN GIORGIO DI VALPOLICELLA
On Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May, the evocative Borgo di San Giorgio, a hamlet in the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella and certified among Italy's Most Beautiful Villages, invites you to celebrate the ‘season of good drinking’. This will be the first of a series of appointments in an itinerant journey through the most representative villages of Italian wine production.
Nestled between ancient stone buildings, beautiful vineyards and with a breathtaking view of Lake Garda, San Giorgio di Valpolicella stands like a natural fortress on the hillside. The village is also known as ingannapoltron-from poltron (lazy) and ganne (stone)-because, seen from below, it seems close, but the path to reach it is anything but straightforward!
During the Borgo diVino weekend, you can lose yourself in its alleys and paths with a glass in hand, tasting the best wines of the area: Amarone, Recioto, Valpolicella, Valpolicella Superiore and Ripasso.
How it works
The event is open to everyone and takes place from Friday to Sunday. To participate in the tastings, you can purchase a ticket online or directly on site at a cost of €18, which includes 8 wine tastings to be enjoyed in the areas dedicated to the wineries*.
In addition to the tasting, you will enjoy an all-round sensory and cultural experience thanks to an educational tour that will guide you through the alleyways and squares, revealing the secrets of wine-growing and the perfect pairings between food and wine.
A €2 deposit is required for the tasting glass, which will be returned at the end of the tasting tour.
