La Magnalonga della Valpolicella

27 APRIL: WINE, FOOD AND TERRITORY

The Magnalonga is an enchanting non-competitive walk open to all, which takes place annually in the beautiful Valpolicella region. What sets it apart is the opportunity to taste the region's delicious products and typical dishes along the route.

The Magnalonga della Valpolicella, organised by the Associazione Vini Classici della Valpolicella (Valpolicella Classic Wines Association), offers a pleasant 11 km non-competitive walk, open to all. The route winds through the nature and food and wine of the San Pietro in Cariano area. During the event, participants stop at various stops to taste the dishes on the menu accompanied by the renowned Valpolicella wines.

The itinerary includes 8 stops where it is possible to savour the typical products of Valpolicella and admire the evocative landscapes offered by the region. Along the route, musical entertainment and jugglers add a touch of joy to this walk.

 

Departure - Aido Gardens

Departing from 8:45 a.m. to 1:10 p.m., groups will leave at 15-minute intervals at the cannon shot from the Aido Gardens, former grounds of the Villa Serego property known as Santa Sofia. 

First stop - Azienda Agricola Nicolis

The first stop is Azienda Agricola Nicolis, in San Pietro in Cariano, which has been producing fine wines since 1951, interweaving their personal journey with the history and peculiarities of Valpolicella.

Second stage - Azienda Agricola Flatio

The second stop is Azienda Agricola Flatio, owned by Flavio Fraccaroli. For generations, the Fraccaroli family has been dedicated to vineyard cultivation, specifically in the Cariano locality in Valpolicella Classica.

Third stop - Corte Pellé

 

In the third stage we are in the 17th-century villa complex that belonged to the Pullè family, then to Andrea Monga and now owned by Galtarossa. Here it will be possible to see the exteriors of the villa, in which the manor house stands out, all surrounded by a 19th-century park with a romantic flavor.

Fourth stage - Castrum

For the fourth stop, we arrive at Villa Fraccaroli, one of the oldest mansions in the area brought back to life with the opening of Castrum Wine Relais & Bistro. It is located on the highest hilltop in the village of Castelrotto.

Fifth stage - Corte Lenguin

For the fifth stage, we are guests at Corte Lenguin, a San Floriano winery owned by the Vantini family, which has been producing wines in the classic Valpolicella area since the early 1900s.

Seventh stage - back to the start at Giardini Aido

At the Aido Gardens the seventh stage we are greeted by the nonprofit ass.ni's pouring kiosks: the tasting of Recioto from the Classic Wines Association specially prepared for Magnalonga 2025.

Final stage - Giardini AIDO

Closing in AIDO Gardens the eighth stage run by Proloco: coffee and good music.
