The history of Masi is the history of a family and its vineyards in the Venetian regions. The name itself derives from "Vaio dei Masi", the small valley in Valpolicella acquired by the Boscaini family, who are still its owners now, at the end of the XVIII century.
Today, Sandro Boscaini, company President and Managing Director, runs Masi with the help of his daughter Alessandra, in charge of sales and administration; his son Raffaele, Marketing Manager and Co-ordinator of the Masi Technical Group and his brother Bruno, Production and Plant Manager. His brother Mario has his own business, but is still part of Masi and an adviser to the management.
Masi's mission and work practices make it one of the elite winemaking enterprises in the Venetian regions, making products that express the style, characteristics and values of the area. This makes it an ambassador for its region on both a national and international level. As such, the company is proud to be a founder member of various associations that promote the iconic brands of "made in Italy" around the world:
This Foundation comprises the best of "made in Italy" with a small group of selected member companies that "operate in the highest echelons of the market and embody the style and culture of Italy, together with innovation, service and quality." Headed by Santo Versace, the Foundation includes the top Italian names in the worlds of fashion, design, tourism, food and wine. The current members in the wine and food sectors are: Allegrini, Baratti & Milano, Bellavista, Biondi Santi, Branca, Ca' del Bosco, Caffarel, Ferrari, Illy Caffè, Masi Agricola and Sanpellegrino.
Italian Quality Wine Institute - Grandi Marchi
Nineteen leading wine producers make up this organisation: Antinori, Argiolas, Biondi Santi, Ca' del Bosco, Carpenè Malvolti, Donnafugata, Gaja, Jermann, Lageder, Lungarotti, Masi Agricola, Mastroberardino, Michele Chiarlo, Pio Cesare, Rivera, Tasca D'Almerita, Tenuta San Guido, Tenute Ambrogio & Giovanni Folonari, and Umani Ronchi.
